Rajshahi mangoes are very tasty due to climatic conditions. Rajshahi mangoes are sold all over Bangladesh and these mangoes are exported all over the world.
There are many Rajshahi mango orchards all over Rajshahi. Different varieties of mangoes are available here, among them Himsagar, Gopalbhog, Amrapali and Lengra.
Basically Rajshahi mango means Rajshahi, Chapainawabganj and Naogaon mangoes. Baneswar in Rajshahi, Kansat in Chapainawabganj, and Sapahar in Naogaon are famous among the mango markets of Rajshahi. Apart from this, there is a big mango market in Ahmedpur of Natore.
Mango calendar is given every year. It is formulated by the Department of Agricultural Extension. According to the Department of Agriculture Extension, Rajshahi mangoes will be available from Gopalbhog on May 25, Himsagar on May 30, Lengra on June 10 and Amrupali on June 15 in 2024.
The price of mango depends on the market. Sometimes its price goes up and down. Generally, the price of mangoes ranges from Tk 1200 to Tk 4500 per maund. Especially Himsagar or Khirsapatam is in great demand.
Due to lack of rain in 2024, mangoes are very scarce. It is expected that the price of mangoes will be much higher. It depends on the market though.
